Wow... I don't really know, but the furthest back I can remember, it was Super Mario Bros. and Tetris back on the NES. Kinda cool how we came from Jumpman evading Donkey Kong's barrels to Mario the fat Italian plumber rescuing various damsels in distress...

anyway i just remembered this old cannon game on a old apple we used to play. you made the turran and put trees and hills and house's in the way and you had to shoot the other guys cannon. you had to select how much power to use and what angle to shoot at to get over all the stuff.

that was a fun and tough game.

Games like Duke Nukem and Doom, with flat pixelated polys, always gave me major motion sickness. The only game that was like that but didn't was Counter Strike. Prolly cuz I was so into it.

I remember back in the day when Midway was making all these goofy ass arcade games like Xenophobe and rampage.

There was this one game where it was first person facing a building and you shot alien robots flying by. It was funny because the tenants inside would be doing things like taking a shower or watching tv and you could shoot them "accidently"... but for the life of me I can't remember it's name. I loved that game
