Post in anything that you know, that is about learning how to speak, write and read Japanese. We're all happy. Lets start this one out shall we? I go first.. um The particle "desu" is used when the subject A is equals to the Subject B.. Ex. "II desu", means It = good Correct me if i'm wrong please.

"No" shows that the noun it follows explains or characterizes another noun that comes after it, it is frequently used for the possesive 'of".
Ex. Tokyo no machi desu - it is the city of tokyo
Morning musume no hyokkori hyoutan-jima - morning musume's hyokkori hyoutan island

"kore" and "kono" What's the difference? When do you use which? kore- can only be alone kono- cannot be alone. EX. kore wa kompyuta desu - this is a computer Kono kompyuta wa warui desu - this computer is bad

can also be used to link up with other expressions to express the "how" of something or to what degree not only wonderful and terric but can be awful as well ex: sugoku zyoozu da = is awfully skilled/skillful similar to an english expression such as "she's awfully cute", "she's awfully darn cute".
