Meh, you guys already took most of what I was originally going to say... Fine then.

I was really into the FF series at one point, but after I started expanding my variety, I can't say it's exactly been at the top of my list... same with those other stuff like Tekken, Sonic and Megaman, I actually prefer the old-school Megaman games on the NES than these new ones they keep pumping out... same with most other series.

I tend to usually focus on just one series at a time, so for now, this is my addiction:

lol, the final fantasy series owns all, but i especialy like ffx.

Just about all the Final Fantasy games are my favorites.
Particularly, FF3(6).
Final Fantasy VII is overrated nowadays.

Here's a short list :

1. FF3(6) : I love the storyline, the characters were unique and numerous, and the amount of Espers!

2. Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time : WELL. It was my first game on the N64
I just loved seeing Link in 3D XD It was an overall fun game.

3. Super Mario RPG : HECK YES THE SNES!
Mario gone RPG. Battling with Peach in your party as a 'white mage' type. Just awesome.

4. Harvest Moon 64 : Got me into the series, I just love RPGs and simulations. Nifty little game ^.^

5. Magna Carta Tears of Blood : Hyung-tae Kim creates GORGEOUS works of art.
I love the touch of Korean art X3 Not to mention, it was the first time
I experienced a battle system like that

6. Grandia II : This game was also the first for me in it's battle system.
The storyline was like FFX's if you think about it,
and the voice acting / spell casting was great <3

7. Tales of Phantasia : This game had comedy, unique-ness, and a hard boss XD
I haven't played the PSX version, I should, neh?

8. Star Ocean Till the End of Time : WOW. JUST WOW. The storyline
totally blew me away.
Once again, the first in it's kind of battle system for me.
The PSX Star Ocean wasn't that bad either <33

9. Chrono Trigger : This game was so neat and unique in it's own way.
The storyline, the different endings,
everything was a blast to play. I'm not a huge fan of Akira Toriyama's
art style, but it was fun XD

10. FF7 : It is overrated nowadays, being EVERYWHERE. .
but I still love it for being a wonderfully made game even if it was
unfinished.
Aerith was my favorite character, which was weird because
I usually hate the white mage characters like Yuna (she was a s summoner, eh same thing..not XD)
The storyline touched me, and made me have to really think about the game.

Woot, this guy is almost same like me......so many game that fit in my list too ^^ I just love FF XI(jp) I have play it for 10 times now.....^^

Akane, dude, you love the RPGs. I was like that for a long time, but I dunno, I guess I wanted a bit of variety. As for your list... I'm sick of FF7 now, although being the blockbuster it was, it's got too much exposure, and it's so damn overrated.

You know, as I was looking over the strategy games I've played, I noticed that old school Command & Conquer, the original one. Wow. Now that I think about it, that game was so groundbreaking and innovative for the RTS genre... even the cheesy live action parts were kinda memorable. Not the best of all time, but one of them for its genre.

Anyway,
as for FF7 being overrated,
I TOTALLY agree with you, Paragon.
I keep telling everyone that,
and no one seems to understand except a select few.

There are FAR too many spin offs
and mass media about FF7...
most of the world's population thinks the movie was
so incredibly awesome..
when it was just made for the following reasons :

1. For the FANS. THE REAL ONES that actually PLAYED the game.
2. Vincent was shown more than everyone else finally
3. The GRAPHICS. The Fight scenes in particular for the graphics.

There was no real storyline whatsoever.
Not a real Square work now, is it?

Anyway, I grew up on RPGs.
I've tried everything else,
I suck at them all XD
Especially FPS.
