Good luck in JapaneseWhat is "good luck" in Japanese. I would really like to know, domo!
Re: Good luck in JapaneseWell there are a couple ways you could say good luck in Japanese but I think the two most common are:
"Ganbatte" and "Gokouun o inorimasu" I think that's what you're looking for.
Re: Good luck in Japaneseoh ok cool, so to my friends, if I just want to wish them luck all I have to say is "Gokouun o inorimasu"?
Re: Good luck in Japanese
Well no, in that case you would just say "ganbatte" since it is to your friends. Ganbatte is informal if used all by itself, you might want to put kudasai at the end of it to make it just a little more informal. gokouun o inorimasu however is very polite, and only needs to be used when talking to grown ups and those much higher than you in rank or position, to show respect and distance.
Re: Good luck in Japaneseisn't Ganbatte "do your best?" Although it's an equivalent of "good luck"
