this show, this show is actually really entertaining and fun to watch but i still dont quite understand the entire storyline and plot and everything that brought the characters up to the point to where they are on the episodes showing on tv. Id have to sit down and watch hour after hour of episodes to catch up and thats something i think that would have me beat I did that for neon genesis evangilion however, watching basically every episode in a row, but its different cuz its a lot shorter series

the only problem this series has is that despite it's length nothing changes much from the begining to the end. sure inuyasha gets a few sword upgrades, learns 2 new moves and stuff like that. but your fighting the same enmy for 160+ eps and in the end (well i'm not gonna say what happens)...

160 eps? see that's what i'm talking about thats ridiculous. who with a job or school has the time to catch up to watch all those..

and another thing i remember one starting once and my sister said something about it being like a "filler" episode where it doesn't affect the overall plot line at all. What's up with that? btw I think that one had something to do with werewolves or something.

i watched all episodes plus the 3 (or 4?) movies

filler episodes normally ocure when the anime is in danger of catching the manga (asuming that the anime is based on a manga that is ongoing)
inuyasha manga has ( i may be mistaken, as i did a search on this long ago) over 400 chapters and is still ongoing. and i believe they are still fighting naraku.

i don't remember which episodes were the fillers but i believe most of them:
a) took place in kagome's time
b) involved the side characters as main characters. (sure it might be interesting but often enough the information you find out about them is not used later in the series)
c) if they don't find a shard or fight one of naraku's minions
etc.
